Limbo

A short little platform game, similar to Little Nightmares and highly loved, at least by me and others I know.

Quick Thoughts

The game is nice to play and simple in a good way. The art style is really nice and everything works smoothly together. It does not need to be overly complicated to be enjoyable, and that is part of why it works so well.

What I Liked

I like how simple the game is. There is a lot going on with the puzzles, the mood and the world around you, but it is never shoved in your face. You can just move through the game, take in the atmosphere and enjoy it without it feeling too much.

The visuals are probably one of the strongest parts for me. The black and white style makes everything feel quiet, strange and creepy without needing loads of detail.

What I Did Not Like

I honestly cannot think of much that I disliked. The main thing is that I have already played and 100% completed the game before, so doing it a second time was not as fun.

It feels very much like a one time play game. Once you know the puzzles and how things work, a lot of the surprise is gone.

Completion Thoughts

If I had not already played the game before, getting 100% would have been a lot harder. Knowing what to expect made it much easier, especially with the puzzles and the parts that need better timing.

It is not the worst game to complete, but it definitely relies on memory and patience if you want to finish everything properly.

Final Thoughts

I like the game. It is short, simple and has a really strong style that makes it easy to remember. It might not be something I would replay often, but I still think it is worth playing at least once.
